Nationals Series–One By One

This series seemed to highlight everything that was both wrong and bizarre about this team. They lost by one in three games, including by a wild pitch in extras, and also managed to come back from an 8-0 hole to make it 9-8 and then go on to win 10-9.

With all of this going on, and there was a lot, there was plenty of fun to go around.

They're either celebrating or dancing to the 70's music they kept playing.

-Pena and Ramirez in step with each other. Each hit a two-run homer in the same game and both made nice line drive grabs in the same game.

-Strike ’em out, throw ’em out by Coleman and Soto. It was brief appearance for Coleman and he didn’t get the win, but he did throw a good game.

-Seeing Tom Gorzelanny again. He pitched pretty well and fell over in the batter’s box after an epic battle against Cubbie Chris Carpenter. Good times.

-So many bad puns, Len.

-Ramirez and Pena getting two-run shots in seperate games.

-DeWitt with a pinch-hit three-run homer.

-Todd Coffey running to the mound. We’ll never get tired of that.

-The Nats usher dancing during pitching changes.

-Ramirez and Barney delivering much needed RBIs.

-It looked like someone hit the bill of Russell’s cap with a rosin bag.

-“I don’t even know what to say anymore, Len.” Neither do we, Bob. But we’ll keep finding the words.
