White Sox Series–Crosstown Classic Part 2

So the White Sox get to keep their precious BP cup and the Cubs get back Marlon Byrd and Kerry Wood from the DL list and Starlin Castro gets to be an All-Star. I’d say the Cubs were the winners there (despite losing Big Z to the DL during the Giants series). And the Cubs were winners for the last game of the series and we’ll take that.

We’ll take the fun, too.

The Centerfield Sunshine and the All-Star.

-Marlon Byrd and Kerry Wood are back. The DL is practically empty (only two on it now!).

-Starlin Castro celebrated his All-Star nod with an RBI triple. We can dig it.

-His diving stop and throw to first was pretty sweet, too.

-Speaking of great plays at first, how about Ramirez’s bare-hand and throw? That was pretty nice, too.

-So were home runs number 300 and 301.

-Matt Garza’s complete game. Shame it was a loss.

-Rodrigo Lopez’s 7 inning, 2 hit shutout. Glad it was a win.

-He also had a nice double play, snagging a liner at his head and throwing to first.

-Carlos Marmol getting the last four outs of the last game. He looked his best.

-The kid getting sunscreen slathered on his face by his mom, kind of against his will. We’ve all been there.
