White Sox Series–Crosstown Classic Part 1

Traveling across town makes for a short road trip, but not necessarily a good one. To be fair, the Cubs didn’t really play badly; they just didn’t play well enough to win. And Ozzie Guillen did say nice things about the Cubs. We don’t know why, but we’ll accept these compliments with suspicion.

On to the fun times!

Photographic evidence of Alfonso Soriano stealing second base.

-Soriano took two walks and stole a base. All in the same game.

-So much awesome Carlos activity. Z, Pena, and Marmol combinging for a win.

-Okay, Castro gets partial credit for that win since he was responsible for driving in/scoring three of the six runs.

-Len and Bob. Discussing seat colors. The food tour. Discussing the ground rules for hitting a horse on the field (we could explain this, but context would just spoil some of the fun). We’re glad we got them instead of…well…other people.

-Pena going yard all three games. Clearly, he’s making up for that drought at the beginning of the season.

-White Sox tarp fail. We hate to brag (no we don’t), but the Wrigley grounds crew would have had that locked down before a drop of rain could hit the dirt.

-Ozzie getting ejected. It was all routine until he kicked Soto’s mask. Soto’s reaction was classic. And we loved it.
