Reds Series–The Skid Is Over!

And after that eight game slide, one win feels like a playoff victory. That game captured what this season was supposed to be like for this team. Good pitching, power hitting, and good-enough defense. It was a glimpse at what the team is capable of and what they should be doing.

It also makes it a little bit easier to have some fun.

Blake DeWitt was all over the Reds this series, but in a non-creepy way.

-DeWitt and Fukudome teamed up to do good things offensively. During the series, Fukudome went 5 or 12 with a walk and 2 runs scored. DeWitt went 7 for 13 with 2 runs and an RBI. Love to see that sort of thing from those two.

-DeWitt also made the catcher look silly on a slide home.

-Someone finally plunked Joey Votto! Thank you, Jeff Samardzija. We’ll tolerate your facial hair for that.

-We think James Russell plunked Johnny Gomes because he doesn’t like his hair cut.

-Pena and Ramirez with back to back homers.

-Demp’s strong six.

-Joey Votto striking out. Repeatedly.

-The trivia questions. Pat and Zonk naming Reds starters and Len and Bob demystifying Georges.

-Cubs Win!
