Mets Series–Never Mind the Rain

The weather was more like March than May, but the Cubs weathered it pretty well to earn a series win despite losing a rain shortened second game and some sloppy defense in the first couple of innings of the last game.

But through wind and rain and cold afternoon, we had some fun.

Careful a bird doesn't fly by...

-A five-run 2nd. A four-run 2nd. A four-run 4th. A four-run 7th. Love those big innings.

-Campana’s first start in center and the consecutive sliding catches in his very first inning.

-Len and Bob talking about the fish hats.

-Lou Montanez’s RBI double in his first at-bat as a Cub.

-Keith Moreland looking like a nun as he was bundled up against the cold.

-Russell giving up one run in 3 2/3 on two days rest after giving up three runs in a four inning start on one day rest after giving up nothing in 3 innings.

-Big Z’s hit streak: 3 for 3 in his start, 4 for 4 in the series. See also: Big Z’s pinch hit RBI.

-Darwin Barney’s fantastic, sno-cone catch.
