Reunited and It Feels So Good

There’s not a whole lot of good going on with the Cubs pitching situation right now. Wells and Cashner are on the DL. Demp is struggling. Big Z found his footing, then lost it. Garza gained some traction, but no one else rolled with him. Poor Russell was thrown to the wolves. And it’s been nice to see Casey Coleman and Jeff Stevens, but not under these circumstances.

However, if the baseball gods smiled on anyone this weekend, they smiled on me. After Jeff Stevens threw nearly 90 pitches over three innings and the Cubs needed a fresh arm, they brought up Justin Berg.

And, lo, the Heavens did open and sun poured through and angels sang.

The Beard Twins have been reunited in the big town.

And because I’ve been really good girl this season, Quade put Berg in after he pulled Russell from his start last night. Just like old times.

We're getting the beards back together, man.

This won’t last, but I’m going to enjoy it while it does.

Sling it, boys.
