A Walkoff Victory Celebration in Pictures

The Cubs won their first extra inning game Monday night by scoring the only run of the game when Tyler Colvin drove in Geovany Soto (who went first to home and is probably still panting). This is significant for two reasons.

1. This is something they struggled with mightily last year. This could possibly set the extra inning tone for the season. Maybe even for one run games in general. That would be swell.

2. The day started with snow on the field and it was cold and windy at game time and possibly spitting snow at the time Colvin hit his walkoff, so a win makes that sort of suffering worthwhile.

To celebrate the first extra inning win of the season, here is the celebration of a freezing, extra inning walkoff win in pictures.

The players avert their eyes as to not be blinded by the whitness of Colvin's victory dance.

And then they ran for the clubhouse to call dibs on the nearest heater. A walk-off win can stave off hypothermia for only so long.
