Changing of the Guard: Pitching Coach

We were pretty disappointed when it was announced that Larry Rothschild would be the new Yankees pitching coach after he committed to the Cubs.

Time out! Change of mind!

First of all, it’s the Yankees. Second of all, never again would we see him do that slow walk to the mound with that disgruntled look on his face like he was going to slap the pitcher on the nose with a rolled up newspaper and scold him. “No! Bad pitcher! No Dairy Queen!”

Larry would truly be a difficult man to replace and the announcement that Mark Riggins was going to be the new pitching coach didn’t exactly thrill us. I mean there’s no way he could ever be as disgruntled as Larry, right?

His mustache is judging you. Harshly.

Okay, maybe he’s not as disgruntled, but we are really looking forward to that mustache heading to the mound to have a talk with the pitcher.

Good times ahead.
